The daily dilemma

The impossible choice we
refused to make.

For curly athletes, every day is a negotiation. Work out and your scalp suffers. Wash and your curls suffer. Skip both and reach for dry shampoo — white cast, crunchy curls, clogged follicles.

Work outScalp gets sweaty and itchy.
Wash itCurls lose their natural oils and moisture.
Dry shampooWhite dust, crunch, buildup.
Do nothingCompromise on both fronts.

The aha moment

“What if that mousse also cleaned my scalp?”

A $5 drugstore mousse gave me the softest Day-2 curls I'd ever had. It just didn't do anything for sweat or scalp health. That gap was the whole product — micellar foam that lifts sweat and oil while keeping curls soft. One step. No white cast. No stiffness.

Why you'll love it

Your friend in the in-between days.

01

Micellar foam cleanse

Lifts sweat, oil and buildup from the scalp without water and without stripping the lengths.

02

Shape memory

Curl pattern and bounce stay intact. No crunch, no cast, no flattening at the root.

03

Built for the gym bag

pH-balanced, vegan, paraben-free, and sized to survive a duffel. Refresh between sessions, not between washes.

Behind the brand

What this project was built with.

buff curl is self-initiated — the name, the formula concept, the identity, the packaging and this site are all mine. Started November 2024, paused, resumed May 2025, and still an active prototype.
